Went to the RV show yesterday, and spent quite a bit of time going over a new Lance 1685. It's a certified 4 season trailer, and seems to be solidly built. Tons of storage space.
Anyone have one and how do you like it...any issues?

A quick search brings info. member cpaharley has all the info you need too. He knows a lot of the details, a lance expert IMHO.

The term "certified 4-season" is being used an awful lot by a bunch of manufacturers. It's confusing and misleading in some cases.
Lance builds a terrific RV lineup for sure, and they are solidly built, but they don't list any insulation specs or R-Values in any of their literature. They merely say "block foam insulation."
I had to call the SoCal Area Manager of Lance camper just to find out what their trailers Insulation rating is. Most other brands list this on their websites.
He said that the walls on the Lances now are made with 1" foam board and Azdel Composite material that actually adds slight insulation..bringing it up to R-9 walls and R-12 roofs.
The minimum insulation that RIVA Code requires in an RV is R-7, so the Lance has average walls and a fair roof insulation. Even adding the "dual pane window" option, the windows are only R-2 rated.
For example, other brands from CrossRoads, Keystone, Open Range, Jayco etc have higher insulation.
The same price range Jayco Jay Feather for example roof is R-21...and CrossRoads SlingShot is in the same class with the Lance, and has R-10 roof, R-10 walls and R10 floors. The Keystone Laredo has R-28 Roof insulation, R-30 Floor insulation...that's 4-season!
You'll be snug enough in the Lance, but the heater and A/C will be working harder on frigid or very warm days.
My posts shouldn't be taken for factual data. They are purely fictional, for entertainment purposes and should not be constituted as actually related to scientific, technical, engineering, legal, spiritual or practical advice. Amen.

Here is the Lance forum
lance clicky
I have owned 2 Lance trailers and the 1685 is the best seller. Lance certifies their trailers 4 season due to heated/enclosed tanks/extra insulation and thermopane windows. My current Lance, the 1575 is a new model with single axle, weight is less than 3000#, the 1685 is about 800# heavier due to the second axle. Any particular questions ask here or on the Lance forum.
