Thanks all for the tips.......I`ll definately rebuild or install a new one myself.
Updated: Talked briefly with the shop and he said the actual motor itself is bad. The model is PBL FP12. Told him to not touch anything as I`ll do it myself.

He may be right about the motor being bad but blown fuses aren't necessarily a sure indication of this. If the gears are swelled and the motor can't turn them it will blow a fuse. I would relieve the gears then try the motor. If it runs, it's a $40.00 fix... IMO... Good luck..

Without dis-assembling the pump end (gears) the bad motor determination is 50% right or wrong.

Either way, a new pump will be less than $300 and is easy to install yourself. My first failure was the swollen gears issue, but since my trailer was in for service anyway, I had it replaced under warranty. The new pump failed after 6 months. I thought it was the gears and didn't want to take it in. I popped the cover and found the gears to be just fine. I removed the pump and took it apart on my bench and found that one of the magnets inside the brush assembly had grenaded. I buttoned it up and took it to the dealer who sent it back to the manufacturer who replaced it under their warranty. They even shipped it back to me so I didn't have to drive to the dealer.

Do the work yourself. It's one of the easier things to fix on your rig.

Sounds like your dealer is trying to make a 'house' payment.
Doubling the price, not only of the part, but the shipping as well.

Can it really be a 5-6 hour R&R?

Stupid question but are RV fuel station pumps fairly universal? If Tractor supply doesn`t have the exact model I have will another that is similar do the trick? I ask only because I have the GPI FP12 and tractor supply carries GPI pumps but I don`t see the actual FP12 on their website.

I don't see why not, just make sure the fittings will fit, size and location. And make sure its rated for gasoline. The rest can be easily modified to fit, the mount and wires.

My toy Hauler uses a Holly red pump, same thing used in cars, value at the mose is maybe $300.00 for the pump. You can remove it with a few simple tools. No way $1000. is in line, they are ripping you off!
