I'm using these. They can be installed without dismounting the tire and are designed to not let the air out of the tire if the flex hose fails.

I have mixed feelings about valve exteneders, had one ruin a good michelen tire the other day. Coming back from St Louis, apparently the valve extender leaked, ran the tire flat came off the rim and I noticed it when I got home.
I had ran it about 40 miles flat. Went to the tire dealer near here, they inspected the tire, wern't sure about it, put it in a cage and proceeded to air it up and it exploded, scared the XXX out of us. The cords inside had broken and the tire was useless.
New tire time
Just my recent experience with one, so I use my two footed trucker air gauge and check the tires.

The best bet is for the the tires to be dismounted and have extended metal valve stems installed. They make them for all wheel positions, and they place the fill portion exactly where they need to be for easy access and filling.
Something to consider when installing new tires.

I would take it to a nother dealer or shop and they may have the right stuff on hand to do this task.

I have to agree with The Beave. We've always had replacement solid metal valves fitted that extend the fitting so we can reach them. Had way to many problems with screw on extensions. Both air filled and airless versions.
Actually that started back when we used to remove the long extensions from truck tire tubes to use small ones that didn't end up sticking you when you used them for swimming.
Once they went tubeless we figured we'd be better off with longer stems like the tubes had.
