What about center of gravity? Seems like that should factor into your high school physics.

You're right. Basic high school physics. Center of gravity won't change since the height/weight will be the same location.
Yup, you're right, basic high school physics again.

Camped in every state but Alaska

Whether you raise it by changing the hitch or the pin box has negligible impact on the center of gravity.
A higher pivot point gives you a little more margin for error with uneven ground but by a very small margin.

Thanks. Glad to see not all have forgotten their high school physics. Guess some slept thru the part on fulcrums, levers, and pivot points. Not surprised tho as I saw a lot of young eyes glass over on those topics.
The margin for error is small but it only requires a small amount of error to ding up the bottom side of your 5ers overhang. If a person needs to move one or the other then move the one that puts the margin of error to your advantage.

Again, if you are going to get that deep into it then...moving the hitch up will change the lever action on the tow rig.

I would move the hitch. This will get the pin box up out of the truck bed more.

I agree.
