I'm new to the 5th thing so I will be needing to call on your collective experience on this one.

In the bed, the hitch is at it's lowest setting. On the 5er the king pin is at the highest setting. Clearance between bed and camper is not enough.

Which one should I move?

It is easer to move the hitch up than the the pin down, at least that is my 2 cents.

Agree, each hole up should get you approx 2". You definitely need to go up several inches.

If you happen to have a V-tailgate, moving the hitch up will give you a little more room there for the kingpin to clear it when hooking/unhooking. Otherwise I don't think it makes any difference, but like metalbender mentioned, moving the hitch is usually a little easier.

Move the hitch up. If you move the pin box down, it will extend down into the truck box more. Just my 2 cents worth.

I would move the hitch. This will get the pin box up out of the truck bed more.

Either way it's 4 bolts. Neither is harder or easier. Just wondering from a force standpoint or a better towing standpoint.

I asked the same question last year. I ended up moving the hitch up.
