Nay sayers always carry on about exhaust manifolds cracking on rat motors. That will happen when you pull off the freeway and immediately shut the engine off. Let it idle for 3 or 4 minutes before shut down. Easy to understand right? I've NEVER lost a manifold in over 100k miles towing heavy stuff with 454 powered vehicles. It is a great idea to carry a complete spare distributor with cap rotor and wires, alternator and starter. Then you will be less likely to ever get stuck in the boonies.

Don't get too hung-up over the NADA price. A MH that old is all about condition. One of the biggest parts of "condition" is whether it has sat outside a lot or not.

Keep your tools handy, there will be maintenance to be performed. I also think you will probably only get about 5-6 mpg, but still fun to travel in. Enjoy. I would replace the old rochester quadra jet carb with a holley double pumper. Then all the rubber components, all fluids etc. Probably on my first couple of trips I would not venture to far from the house until everything seems in working condition.

If you are looking for a part time job, you found it.
I would love to dive into an old RV and fix it up, but I have
a full time job.

Best of luck. I know you will have fun.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
