charlysmom&dad, you will not lose your local channels from your house UNLESS you physically take the receiver with you and travel out side of your "local coverage area". If you did that you would not pick up your regular local channels however when you returned back home from your trip you would once again be able to receiver your regular local channels.

houtrz, thanks you. Your post was very helpful. I wanted to leave my home programming completely as is, and have the distant network programming in addition to my Dish network programming. We have a receiver that we leave in the motorhome. The receivers at home stay there. Sounds like DNS will work for us.

If you run into any problems, just PM me and I"ll help out. You will need your registeration for your RV, fill out the form and fax it to them. Will be watching TV in no time. Its pretty cool having the west coast channels because if you miss a prime time show, its on again in two hours.
