I am not saying that our moderators do a bad job, just that this is a forum. Forums are a place for conversations, hence the word forum.
If a topic is something that you and others care to discuss, then you have reason to want to talk back and forth on a subject. If others do not want to participate about a certain subject, they do not have to join in. This is my complaint about closings. I understand that more are closed because of political overtones, but us campers talk politics too. And again, this is a forum. Rules are rules and we all must live within those rules or we can choose to move on elsewhere, but as a site where 90% of the time I am happy, I will stay here.
I hope others do also, but each of us has our own beliefs and thoughts.

There are many many political based forums all over the internet. Why must a sponsored RV website become another one? We pay nothing to use this site and as far as I know the mods get paid nothing to mod. The least that we can do is follow the wishes of those that pay for and allow us to use THERE forum.

This is about your fourth post on your closed post. No one else is complaining about the post being closed so drop it. The moderator is doing his job and we don't need a lot of politic talk on the forum unless it relates and effects our RVing. There's more than enought politic junk on the news every day.

I was only talking about forum rules and closings and why some are closed. If you chose to not discuss this, don't open it. Simple when you think about it.
And it wasn't my post that was closed. I only gave my opinions on the whys and why nots after it was closed.
Again, not every topic is for anyone. We get to chose which we read or participate in.

I like the idea of letting them run...exchanging different opinions is ok with me even if they aren't my opinions...
Close them down when they get nasty and personal.

One way to get me to close a thread is to start making negative comments about each other. Discuss issues, don;t make negative comments about the posters.
I have deleted one such post from this thread and considered deleting a second one.

When I worked this was called 'The shotgun approach'....not dealing with the individual.
I understand that it is easier to just close then go thru and delete individual posts but that results in ALL being penalized. Doesn't send the right message.

Obviously, I don't close on the first deletion, or this one would be closed. I usually make a comment or put in a post. But, if some of the posters don't take the hint, I don't have time to babysit.
