hey all I wanted to know what kind of gas mileage you get towing your 5iver and what kind of truck it is. Then I would like to know what you get with out the 5iver.

Thinking of getting a better truck to tow my fiver.

Thanks for the input!

Tow a 35' Crossroads Cruiser, empty weight (who tows empty?)8,200 lbs, normal weight about 10,000 lbs. I tow with a 2009 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab, long bed Duramax. Normally when towing I average about 11 mpg. I always drive at 62 -63 mph. Without the RV I get about 16 around town and 19 on the highway.

2000 Ford F-350 crew cab two wheel drive dually diesel with automatic and I tow a 39' fiver that weights right at 17k with 3600 pound pin weight. I get 15.7 empty driving normal speed/conditions and for two weeks one time I drive like grandpa and got 17.5 mpg. When towing I got 9.8 mpg on a 2400 mile trip from Ohio to Florida and back.

TV is below. About 11.5K loaded weight, and getting 11 MPG consistently. Now idea what it gets without the 5'er.

I've been averaging 12mpg towing and 20-21 mpg solo. Both calculated with the onboard liar computer @ 60mph.

Vehicle/fiver info below. I get anywhere between 7 and 10, depending on headwinds, and hills, and etc. 12k fiver weight, family of 4 and dog.

Info on both below, probably weigh around 14,500. Average about 10.5 towing, coming out to AZ it was almost all uphill and got 8.8. Deming to Congress, AZ pretty level got 12.6. Doing 60 on the interstate with no tow, around 18.

With the 5er listed and the tv that is listed we get around 9.5 to 10.5 depending on conditions. The 5er weighs about 12400 when pulling. When solo we get about 15 with a combination of town and road. Just town driving it is about 13.
