Is there a third party website that reviews all makes and models of TT, RVs, the whole bit? Something similar to edmunds.com in the auto world?

Thanks

There is a web site where owners rate their own RVs based on a standardized list of questions. It is not MODEL specific but listed by manufacturer. It certainly does not include EVERY brand on the market but it has quite a few. Some have a high number of responses while others have only a few so obviously the more accurate would be those with a high number of responses. http://www.rv-coach.com/RV/manufacturers/survey/rate_your_rv_results.html

The RV Consumer Group is a non-profit, no advertising accepted source of reviews.

One of their books I liked the best was the one on "How To Inspect an RV Yourself". This book trains you to look for what is important to you, and how to look beyond "glitz" and look for real quality.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

jrconsumer.com is another. I tried it, but was not impressed. They obviously cannot buy and test every model RV there is. They can only seek out what ever information they can find, assemble that into some format they decide, and come up with personal opinions based on what they read and how they interpret it.

The problem with generic manufacturer reviews, such as the link in the previous post is that manufacturers such as Keystone, Forest River, Jayco, etc make numerous models under different individual brand names or product lines. Those different brand names (under the same manufacturer) can range from low end to upper end. So a generic rating means little.

Best thing to do is view as many manufacturers/models/floor plans you can. Find price range, brand, and floor plan you like and then ask here what the general experience has been of those who have been there.

I agree that the RV Consumer Group is the best of what is available. They are non-profit and do not accept any money from then RV industry as most such reviewers do. Because of that there is a cost to join but they also provide more technical information and educational materials than any other organization. I have owned RVs since 1972, but I still use their advice when shopping.
