Thousand Trail Northwest Zone camping has 18 campgrounds mainly in Washington and Oregon. I am wondering what the caliber of these parks are. I've gone to RV Parks Review but would feel better hearing it from you, my fellow forum members. Last year we bought the Northeast package and most of the campgrounds were below out expectations. I put this in the Class A forum so as to not get reviews from tent camping enthusiasts who might prefer rustic camping. We prefer full hookups with roads we can navigate a 40' motorhome on. Thanks!!

Most of the NW parks were either old NACO or Leisure Time parks before being purchased by TT. The parks were for the most part built during a time when rv's were smaller and probably travel trailers which are easier to level. This makes for the majority of the sites being smaller and not very level. Living in the NW we have used many of the parks and find that with a larger coach maneuvering through the parks can be an experience in itself and since most of the parks have you select your own site most of the larger ones are taken unless you arrive early in the day and in the middle of the week. I still think that if you are coming to the NW the zone pass is a good deal you just need to plan ahead and research which parks you might be interested in using.

Most of the 1000 Trails we've stayed at in the NW can handle bigger rigs, but some are really tight. La Conner is about the worst. Long Beach and Seaside are just great, Whaler's Rest a mixed bag (bigger sites in the north section), and South Jetty again is a mixed bag. As has been said, planning your arrival is good - we've found showing up around noon on a tue-wed-thur gets us the best shot at a place we like.

We came down from Canada this past year, starting at Birch Bay and hit each of the parks down to Florence Oregon. Each was different. Whalers Rest has the best management followed by Birch Bay. Several of the parks have upgraded to 50amp service. La Conner has many nice wide open spaces but their roads do present a challenge. Most of La Conner's waterfront sites are occupied by leases. I don't think you can go wrong with that pass. If there's a particular park you're interested in let me know and I can shoot you some pictures. We did not find a park we could not fit into.....Dennis

I have been a TT/N member for 20plus yrs and have visited those parks countles times. The areas they are in are great, the parks of course vary but none you would be disappointed in.
However personally I would not purchase a zone, you can get a nationwide used membership for very little.
I have used TT/N from the East coast to the West coast and inbetween.
Love it.
Take a look at the above.
Sorry, confused the Zone camping pass with the purchase of just a Zone.

I have not visited those parks but am... In a TT park as I type this (South East however)
I can say that what is said above is typical of all the TT parks, They tend to be older, built when rigs were smaller, though many do have modern "Pull through" sites (I can not speak for the n.w. parks) and they offer at least SOME 50 amp sites, .. Full hook up on many sites (Even if it's only 30 amps) there is usually an extra charge for 50 amps.
now, about the zone pass.. This is just about the most exciting thing I've seen in Membershp camping because it's not a marraige, it's a trial.
With all the other membership parks you pays your money and you take your chances.. I know one park I belonged to.. basiclly went out of business. They kept hounding me for dues however.. Another showed us a big beautiful park.. Of course the rest of the system TOGETHER does not equal that one park.
TT parks,, are fairly uniform at least the ones I've seen.
But the big thing with the zone pass is that you pay up front, there are no dues, and it's a one year deal. You need never give them another dime, EVER if you do not want to. Oh, they may try to get you to renew, but it's not a bill and there is no collector.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

We have two problems with our TT CGs. Most are only 30 amps and the few 50 amp sites cost more money; and, most irritating is that the vast majority of prime sites are already taken by somebody who has rented the space for the season and is not there, but his RV is parked there. When our membership expires, we're done with them.

We have been members for well over years 25 and for the last 10 years I have been towing a 34 ft TT into mainly the Parks in Calif, Oregon and Wash as they are the best in our opinion. We have been to most in the system but we prefer the Northwest. La Conner is one of our fav then in Oregon, Pac City, South Jetty, Sea Side, Lake Of The Springs in Cal. But like Cat320 said it really pisses me off about TT renting the Sites for up to 3 years and no one {Members}
can use them. TT def is not what it use to be 20 years ago {family} but it still the best membership parks out there. The one year zone memberships is a great deal, pay your one year then walk away if it is not your thing. The only time I had any problems getting into sites was when I towed the 40 ft 5th that I still have. It is used as a rental now on my property in Yuma. The Parks with only 30 amps does not bother me in the least except the Park in Chalis Wash which has extreamly low voltage in the summer in a lot of sites.
