Which do you like better, Mor/Ryde or TrailAir, and why please.

Thanks,

I've never owned the MorRide so, no comparison here. However, I am extremely pleased with my Trail Aire. Virtually no chucking and after using the OEM pin box for a couple of years and then installing the Trail Aire, it was like night and day. Good luck with your choice.

Unless they have changed it, Mor/ryde is not a "floating" pin box. It is a "rubber pin box" by their description. A block of rubber that absorbs shock in the four horizontal directions, but not cushioning up and down.
I have a 5th Airborne air ride pin box, something similar to the Trailair except the air bag is concealed inside the pin box rather than open. Works great. In the rear view mirror I can see the 5er moving up and down somewhat independent of the truck taking some the shock from the 5er. Truck also rides smoother. I did not have much chucking to begin with, now virtually none. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I've got the Tri Glide Trailair system...combines the Mor/Ryde's fore/aft cushioning and the up/down cushioning of the Trailair/5thAirborne type air lift suspension on the pinbox. Gone is any feeling (aside from knowing that I've got a ton sitting in the bed) that the 5ver is back there. Very easy to forget I've got 35' hanging out the back of the truck...starting, stopping, highway bumps, all smooth as silk and the contents/frame of the 5ver appreciates the effect or lack thereof

The only drawback to the Tri Glide is that it does require some maintenance...a quick squirt from the grease gun on 9 fittings every 1000 miles or so. I just added that "job" to my Sunday LPG/Tire/General checkup duties; not a big deal for me, takes all of 2 minutes. I've got a 12v power grease gun that I pack in the front storage bay next to the compressor and the pinbox is right there at eye level.

My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...

Have the Trail-Air on our 40' 16K coach. Best money ever spent. I towed my Dad's Avion with the Mor Ryde pin, I didn't like it at all. When I was maneuvering it around in a very steep environment, it would allow the coach to shove you around, the movement in the pin was very unnerving.

Thanks all for the info. Looks like I need to spend the really long dollar. Oh well, that's why I go to work in the morning!

I have the trailaire rubber pinbox addition similar to the moryde and it seems to do a good job but I don't really feel much difference over the way I towed for years.
I have several friends who have the trailaire air pinbox & they love them.
I am considering getting a fifth airborne as I like that the components are hidden behind the unit as opposed to the trailare unit. Reviews are normally quite a bit similar on these two units.JMHO jb

Trail-Air for us, and it just works. I would estimate that it took about 85% of the chucking out.
