Looking at going to North Beach and have questions for those who have been there. Have looked at Rvparkreview, Campground report already. How big are the sites, any trouble 38' fiver. As far as the beach, is it dog friendly, and I have read review that the sand is a coarse sand and you need shoes? Since the sites are all sand from reviews, any trouble as far as sinking if it rains, etc? Finally, any pictures of the sites as the website doesn't show any good ones and I didn't know if there was a reason they weren't showing them. Trying to decide between this and one on the Gulf coast.

We've camped there several times, the last time in 2009. The sites are plenty large, and they have quite a few pull throughs. The sand in the sites wasn't a big problem, (though once we needed our 4WD to get into a site). The beach is kind of coarse but I don't think you need shoes to walk on it. I don't know about any rules against dogs on the beach. It's a great place, the solar heated pool is wonderful!
Currently here for 3 months. Sand around the campground is soft enough to go barefoot. Beach in front of CG is a little heavier near shore but softer near the water. Sites are plenty big enough for your rig with most having good vegetation between them. Many walk their dogs around the CG and on the beach, and picking up after the pooch is expected. Picturesque IntraCoastal Waterway is right behind CG. There are 3 good restaurants withing walking distance. We've been to about 15 snowbird sites in Fla, and settled on this one for our full 3-month stay. Camp on!
We've been to NorthBeach several times and it's one of our favorite however it's a bit 'rustic' compared to a lot of other campgrounds we've been too. I wouldn't worry about sinking as it's not soft like driving on the beach although it is just sand / dirt (no paved roads or cement pads).
Beach sand isn't like the Panhandle beaches but it's not bad and you can certainly walk barefoot.
They do have several pull-throughs so you should be okay there but I've never looked on the other side and it looks like it might be tight there.
One thing that really annoyed us last time we went is that we were travelling in the off-season (early November) and didn't know our exact schedule so didn't make any reservations. When we were fairly close, we called them up and were told they didn't have anything for our size rig (37' class A with 2 slides - nothing huge). Since we weren't that far and didn't really want to stay anywhere else in the area (we were on our way to South Florida) and we're used to squeezing into tight sites, we decided to drive in anyways to see what they did have available. Sure enough they probably had a dozen pull throughs available and probably just as many back-in sites that we could fit in the North side section alone. No idea why they told us they didn't have any sites for us over the phone but we were really annoyed about it.
