I am thinking about selling my DP, the only thing that is wrong with it is the carpet, not tore or anything just faded pretty bad. If I decided to get this done before sale witch one would be cheaper the carpet or laminate, I would have to hire someone to do this for me. I have a 381/2 ft Endeavor 3 slides 2002 year. Thanks for all replys Roy

Hey Roy, "Semper Fi" Another alternative would be to dye the carpet. I've heard that Carpet Dye can be purchased to do it. Would be a lot less expensive, in fact you might be able to hire it done, local carpet stores should be able to help you with it.

If the carpet is still in good shape other than fading, it might be a cheaper way to go, as you are selling it.

Hope this helps

As you probably know any improvements you do to the coach you will not recoup the cost during the sale but will increase the probability of a sale. Used market has a large inventory currently and anything you can do to make your coach better than everyone else helps reduce the time on the market if you looking to sell on your own. If you're thinking of trading it in then do nothing. Probably will not make a difference in the price a dealer gives to you.

Carpet dying would be my first choice if the desired results can be achieved. If not then I would go with the linoleum over laminate. I think your costs will be lower and the durability is pretty high. A lot of the coaches coming off the assembly lines are linoleum even in the bedrooms.

One think to check is if the coach has linoleum under the carpet and what condition it's in. You might be able to just remove the faded carpet unless the installer went crazy with a staple gun but it's a long shot.

The three slide are really going to complicate any direction you go with this. Good luck and post before and after images if you do change it out or dye the carpet.

Having installed and used both laminated and Allure vinyl planks (Home Depot), my money would be on the the Allure or a similar product because of ease of installation. The vinyl planks are flexible, easily cut with hand tools and quick to install. Both products are similar in terms of appearance and clean ability.

I for one would not buy a coach if it does not have carpet in the living room, bedroom and bathroom. The floor gets too cold in the winter if you use your coach in the winter time. So it might hurt a sale if you install the laminate ot save a few dollars.

I for one would not buy a coach with carpet in it at all. We replaced all the carpet in ours with laminate flooring, go for the upgraded laminate and you'll be happy.

Whereas my wife and I wouldnt have any coach that DIDNT have carpeting in the living area and in the bedroom. So called laminate flooring is the cheap way to cover bad floors...just as vinyl sides is on a wooden home when the siding is rotten and or need painting. And if you ever get anywhere that the sand is similiar to the black stuff ( volcanic stuff) in Yellowstone...its like walking on BB;s and the minute you step on a hard surface...such as a tile entry in a coach....you'll bust your every loving *** because as I said its like walking on BB's.

Carpet in a kitchen or bath is a definite "thumbs down"...but bedroom and living rooms...YEAH!!!

Let it go and let the new buyer make their own selection and to sweeten the sale you might allow them $$$$ to purchase their own choice and installation!!!??

We've got ceramic tile and carpet in our DP. We've been thinking of pulling the carpet (with the possible exception of bedroom for comfort). My biggest concern is noise. Because we're in a pusher, we may not get much more engine noise. But without carpet, there is less to obsorb road noise.

Does anyone have experience on this?
