My wife and I had a great time camping out in Cave Creek Arizona this weekend. Although it was a little windy and our neighbor was afraid of the dark so he left a spotlight on while we were trying to enjoy our campfire and gaze at the stars...we had a very enjoyable time. Please visit my Blog to check out the pictures of our weekend.

We enjoy going for the weekend to the Cave Creek Regional Park as well Also enjoy Usery Mountain Regional Park,McDowell Mountain Regional Park,Lost Duchman State Park. And if we go to Tucson to visit relatives almost always stay at Picacho Peak State Park on the way down or the way back or both. Love this area.

When it's 110* to 115*, I do not enjoy being there. Just think, in a couple three weeks, the rattlesnakes will start running. Your neighbor's spotlight was to spot the snakes I'll bet.

Do you folks like the change to reserved sites? We are at McDowell now. In talking to a couple of veterans, they said it used to be first come first served, and you might have to stay in an overflow area for a day or two, but then you'd have a site for up to 14 days, whatever you wanted. Now for instance, there is no getting in to Usery this week for more than a day or so because of all the reservations.

Luv the reserved sites. Hated trying to get away for a nite or two and end up in overflow. There were only 5 sites at McDowell Mountain Regional Park for Presidents day weekend now only 4

We like the reservation process because we know that we will have a spot when we arrive. I have noticed that we have to book well in advance and when we are there, there appears to be many empty spaces because they will only let people stay 1-2 days. We only camp for a maximum of 3 days, so the reservation process works well for us.
