Took out the dash tv and put in a fireplace. Put new 24" led tv in above cabinet.See pics.

How hard is it to move the fireplace to open the dog box?

Haven't permantly attached it yet, thinking about hinging it or putting it on draw slides. The wood frame is attached to the fireplace and I can pull it out as one unit. Don't really need to access behind it.

Oh, good idea. I've got an overhead CRT hanging over my dash and hadn't figured out what to do with the space. I was just going to put a cabinet door over it but a fireplace would be neat.

Love the fireplace !!! Where did you find one small enough for that space?? I pulled the old tv out of the same spot last year and was looking for something to put in it's place.
