Have you tried turning Javascript off in Firefox, Tools>Options>Content and uncheck "Enable Javascript". Click OK. Log into Yahoo Mail, and follow prompts to use Yahoo Mail Classic.

I can't get to Yahoo email at work, as cannot several others while others can??? I did have to download Firefox due to one certain program I have on mine. Have about decided it is something to do with settings on my compter, so I use the text only version. Not my favorite choice but my only choice at this time. (And our tech dept says it's not anything they've done...must be a Yahoo problem per them)

I've seemed to struggle with Yahoo Mail forever...... Some days it works, others it won't and it always seems slow to me. I kept my yahoo account and use it for junk mail stuff and switched to GMAIL for my main account.

As of today (2/1) Yahoo Mail was absolutely CRAZY! I've had many problems with it before over a period of months---but today was, by far, the worst it has ever been. Tonite, however, it went well--so let's hope it stays that way.

I'm seeing issues with the free Yahoo mail and Thunderbird not able to log in to retrieve email. Not a big problem for me as I only use it for access to Yahoo Groups. I'm not sure what they are doing to cause these issues?

This happens on both computers so I don't think it is a computer problem.

People need to realize these "does this website work for you" questions in general are pointless.
yahoo does not exist at only one server, there can potentially be hundreds, all pointing to the same url. Thus if the one server YOUR attempting to hit doesn't work in CA. a guy in FL may work fine, since he is hitting a completely different server, thus proving nothing. People in the same general area can also hit a different server depending on load balancing algorithms that some website use.
This is just an FYI. your solving nothing by asking this question.
Case in point, in PA, the following FOUR servers below resolve to Yahoo.com, they can/prolly are different somewhere else in the country
Name: yahoo.com
Addresses: 72.30.2.43
98.137.149.56
98.139.180.149
209.191.122.70

I see where you're coming from, but if you look at where there are problems, many different areas of the country--even Canada--are affected. In my opinion, Yahoo Mail IS having difficulties, and it's not just on his or my server.
