I just got one and am using it in my house right now, but am planning on mounting the transmitter in the well, behind the folding steps on my 5er, it will be protected from road spray, and most other moisture, plus out of the sun almost all the time.

Command Strips..for heavier things, we do use velcro (multiple strips on the object) - and have not had any problems

Not to swipe this thread.....but I'm going to anyways. Where do you mount your weather transmitter? I was leaving mine outside propped up on a table. I'd rather mount it to the outside of the coach.

Mount my remote transmitter to the inside of the door to the LPG tank...out of the weather, the LP storage bay is open on the bottom with good air flow through it by design for accurate readings and the color of the bay is white inside and out so that it doesn't get "heat soaked" as would happen with a dark color mounting area;i.e., on the frame. I tried up inside the pin box, but, due to the black paint it would give a 4 or 5 degree erroneously high reading...just don't mount it so that it sits next to the LPG tank or the opposite will happen as the tank tends to be cooler than ambient temperature. I use the above mentioned Command picture hanging strips to attach it. Easily removed for battery replacement when needed.
My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...

There was a 10 minute tip last year in Trailer Life for this situation. The guy bought one of those hide a key boxes with a magnet & attached the transmitter to the lid of the box with mounting tape. He just attaches the box with the transmiter to the metal frame behind his wheel chocks so he will see the transmitter when removing the wheel chocks when he is leaving a park.

DItto to the command strips. I found these out last year, and they are wonderful for RV's! I just wasn't comfortable putting holes in my walls, and this was a perfect solution.

I put the transmitter of the weather station in the door bin inside the refrigerator and the receiver on the kitchen counter. Tells us how cool it is in the fridge without having to open the door and let the cold out.

I hate to drill holes. Sooner or later the rig be sold. My idea of where things should be hung & a future owners ideas are going to be very different. The more that can be done to protect the resale value the better.
