We have a 2008 Winnebago Destination,340 Cummings. It is in our back yard at the moment. Went out to do some cleaning and no power anywhere. Not one little light. Ok the batteries are dead. ?? Went to plug in and it broke the breaker in the shop where we plug it into 110 just to use minimum electric and to charge batteries. Unplug it. Can't start the generator or coach. mmmmmm What to do... Put the battery charger on and charged all the batteries. Coach started up no problem. House batteries all charge up. But still not a light to be seen in house. Generator won't start. Checked all breakers in coach. Every thing looks fine. No popped breakers. Not a thing will work. Every thing worked just fine when we parked it for the winter. What the heck happened while it was just setting there? What pulled so much power in two weeks to drain all the batteries? A mobile RV Repair guy is coming out Monday to hopefully fix it. Any ideas what could of caused this to happen.
Thanks,
Lu

are the coach batteries in series or parallel? are they supposed to be in series or parallel? possibly mis-connected? is the breaker *on* the converter popped? have you totally removed the coach batteries and substituted a known-to-be-good battery to see what happens?

Did you check both chassis and house-battery "disconnect" switches to make sure both sets of batteries are connected? The converter/charger cannot charge batteries while they are on disconnect.
How did you charge the batteries? If you used a portable charger it could have taken days to fully charge the batteries.
Please note that the 12 volt lights are controlled by fuses. The main fuse may be blown. The refrigerator, air-conditioner, furnace, hot-water heater all use 12 volt power for their control boards even when on 120v AC. Try the microwave to see if you have 120v AC when plugged in?

There are breaker on the inverter. Chrck those. There are battery disconnect switches somewhere, usually near the main control panel. Are those off?
There are parasitic drains when they sit eg the propane and CO detectors, radios, etc. If you leave them sitting not plugged in the batteries get discharged.

Could you explain this in a little more detail?

If the batteries are not fully charged, the converter could draw a bunch of amps and it probably blew the 15A breaker in the garage. Needs plugged into a 30A source. I'm guessing.

Battery disconnect switch first.
Invertor breakers located on side or front of invertor second.
Check all battery levels third.
Forth, if this fails shoot it and take the saddle.

It's that "Cummings"! they're a cheap knock-off copy of the much better quality "Cummins" eng. Get rid of it quick before your doomed!

Thanks for all the quick answers and cute remarks. Just wanted some ideas. Still learning about the rig. We will find out Monday from the RV tech what the heck happened, I hope.
