I think you will find almost all RV manufactures clearly indicate that putting anything on the bumper would void warrentys and could cause more issues. It could be they moved the tire to take that weight off the bumper. I still would never put anything n those bumpers unless the manufacture indicated otherwise.

It goes beyond just the bumper, although no one seems to want to believe that…

As far as warranty goes Jayco is like most… you would be well advised to talk to Jayco first… (NOT the dealer but the mfg)... they may say it would be ok...
here is some of the language used by Jayco for the J-flight… they like others use a cambered I-beam frame to reduce weight…

By way of example only, this limited warranty does not cover any of the following: defects in materials,
components or parts of the RV not attributable to Jayco; items that are added or changed after the RV leaves the
possession of Jayco; additional equipment or accessories installed at any dealership, or other place of business, or by any other party, other than Jayco;

If your RV was ordered with the optional bike
rack, do not use the rear bike rack hitch for
any other purpose (doing so will void the
Towable Limited Warranty).

Items that extend beyond the bike rack/cargo
tray OR weigh over 250 lbs. (113.4 kg) will
place undo strain on the RV.
Some items may fall within the given weight
range, however, can still cause damage. Over
time, excess weight added to the tray will
cause damage from the motion created while
traveling.
In addition, extra weight behind the
axle may reduce the hitch weight (leading to
adverse handling conditions from wind gusts
and/or passing traffic).

I am not trying to rain on any ones parade here… its you investment… but it seems by the time people ask the question they have pretty much decided to do it already and are looking for affirmation more than information…

Carrying bikes on the back of a RV is a wildly popular idea, but IMO it is never the best or even a good option no matter how much we want it to be…

According to my mfg I can load 400 pounds on the rear of my trailer (more than most trailers), but it must be secure and can not extend out very far… My last trailer was a light trailer (Sunnybrook) this one is not light… I chose it to get away from the light weight trailers…
I have hauled bikes on mine but I built my own rack with 2 attachment points at the frame (nothing moves) and I still wouldn’t carry any more than 2 bikes on it... although warranty isn't my concern...

BTW, I thought both bumper or under mount tire carriers were still available on Jaycos???

Jayco still puts the spare tire on the bumper. It has a fold down hitch so if there is a rear storage compartment, it can be accessed without removing spare tire.

On the 322 FKS 2012 and 2011 the tire is under the TT not on or near the bumper.

I don't do the legalize but as I stated earier I have no less than 100,000 mile with an extended around the spare bike rack. Driven all over the USA and have never had an issue.

You may be different but when I get the new one in April I'll put the bike rack on it and my Aluminum storage box on it also.

It's a bad idea. Those frames are not sufficient unless modified. Go to a welder and get it modified.

I have seen many posts about how bad bike racks are on the bumper. I still have some reservation about welding a hitch to the frame and putting on a rack made for an RV. If I do I will keep a very close eye on it and if I see anything that concerns me I will not use it anymore and just use the rack on the truck when we don't have a camper. I have been assure by several people that the welder is excellent and the hitch will be welded correctly to the frame.

Not knowing the "whole" story but Do ya think that maybe the stress on TWO FLAG POLES on a bumper may be a little much?????

Good Grief as mentioned before I've towed 1000,000 + with the spare and two bikes and an aluminum tool box ( for leveling block storage and little else) on all kinds of roads NOW I am going to do it without the spare.

Plus a Jayco lite is NOT and Eagle 322 period.

My bumper mount bike rack with only TWO bikes BARELY was able to make TWO trips for a grand total of 1800 miles before the BUMPER started to RIP away from the welds. There was no tire or any box back there, only the TWO bikes. Hit one really bad pot hole and that is all it took.

Just because YOU have lucked out doesn't mean that OTHERS or even YOU will luckout in the future.

You must understand that WE ALL MUST SHARE the road with others, there are OTHERS depending on YOU to do the RIGHT thing (and safest). Failure of your bumper mount puts others in harms way, this is what you are missing.

Folks YOUR MILEAGE WILL VARY but it WILL happen sometime down the road by directly using the bumper without serious modifications and reinforcements.

A fool and his bumper will soon be parted, I learned and no longer foolish, my bikes ride elsewhere.

You have been warned.

I mount 2 bikes on a bumper rack that extends over the spare tire. Not sure I would mount 4. The other 2 could be mounted on a rack at the front of TV, but could cause engine overheating if too much cooling air is blocked from the front grill. I did this once years ago on a conversion van that was my TV.
