After 13 years on the road, 250,000 miles, workcamping and traveling we purchased a house.
I don't know how I fit all my tools into the 5er as I'm having trouble finding room in my basement, maybe because I can now separate them into categories; electrical, wood working, welding, communications, mechanical, and metal working. The only new tool is a table saw.
DW discovered fabric that she didn't know she had.
I knew that I had scrape metal on the truck, but I just found 30 lbs of aluminum and ss in the bay of the 5er. I also found spare parts for almost everything on the RV, including 40 ft of unused sewer hose, a spare new 50 amp electric lead, spare light fixtures. At Teton rallies Teton would give away all the parts that they didn't use and anything that nobody else wanted ended up in my rig. No wonder the unit weight 23,000 lbs.
The cause is grandchildren, we want to spend more time with them while they are young.
We may down size and still travel, but not right away.
It is possible to travel and bring all your toys with you and have fun.

It is amazing what we can tuck away in our RV's.

Have fun with those grandchildren and you will take them out camping. They love it.

Enjoy your new lifestyle and the Gkids. I'm sure you'll be on the road again, maybe not fulltime but the kids will have you on the go.

Sometimes it is a hard decision. We fulltimed for just 4 years. We loved fulltiming but we had some property in Wyoming and longed for a permanent address. Now we are raising hay and cattle and enjoy our feet in the same soil every day. We wouldn't have traded that 4 years for anything. However, now we love ranching and the country ranch life. I can have my large 30 by 50 heated shop for all of my hobbies. We grow grapes, make wine, and after 10 years with our feet in the ground bought a small TT and this coming summer will enjoy some camping. We are located 15 miles from Cody, WY. That was quite a change from south Los Angeles living for over 40 years. You will have fun but you will never forget the great times you had fulltiming. When I talk to our friends I can honestly say, "been there done that". From everything I have experienced one thing I know. I could never live any where except the country. Here in Wyoming we truly watch the deer and antelope play. If you ever plan a trip out west give us a heads up. We'll be glad to let you stay here for your vacation. It is a humble log cabin abode, but we love it.

WyoTraveler we have probably been past your place. We have been on every paved road in WY and a lot that weren't. Been going to the Teton's since 1976. We have 5 acres in upstate NY and also have deer in our backyard but no pronghorn or antelope.

We all will open the door to a new adventure which will be moving back into a stick house. Its were most of us came from, my transition will not be a issue... I'm sure you will adjust again and return to the new adventure..

Just remember you have had a adventure that most Americans will never enjoy and many would have loved doing what you have done... My adventure has taken me to places that many only dream about. Life is Good.. Happy Trails....
