Hi,
I was wondering whether an external (portable) LP tank could be attached to the tank in the MH for easier fill up. Right now, we have to unhook every 3-4 days just to fill LP. Is this even possible??

Camping World has what you need to connect to your on board tank. Walmart may have it too.

You can't use a portable tank to refill your MH tank but you can get an adapter called Extend a Stay at most RV parts outlets that will allow your MH to run on the portable tank only.

Or, if you are going to be in one place for a while (as in several months), contact the local propane distributor about renting an 80 gallon (yes, GALLON, not pounds) tank. I have done it twice. Both times they brought the tank out, hooked it up to the motorhome (or trailer), and filled it. I never had to mess with it after that, except to check the gauge every couple of weeks, and call them when it got low. Then they would come out and fill it again.
The last one I rented is still sitting here, next to the house. The rent is less than $45 every six months, and all it is being used for is the kitchen range. I get it filled about twice a year.

Check out "extend-a-stay" from Marshall Brass.
Last I heard Camping world sold a competitor's product but it's also a good one.
I have seen "home made" versions of these that, frankly, scare me. so please go with a good one.

Get a couple of 20 or 30 lb. tanks(easy to handle)and "Extend-A-Stay"and you are good to go. At my source it is cheaper rate when filling several tanks vs just one tankat a time.

I see some of those where the VIP's are parked in Yellowstone. Of course Im only there in summers and early fall...so they probably can go their whole time there with the initial filling.

There are two versions of the Extend-A-Stay. The standard one has a hose to connect to a portable 20-30# propane tank. The deluxe version has a second 12' hose that has the same fitting on the end as the little green one pound propane tanks have that are used with outdoor stoves. That hose lets you use the stove with your big tank.

You are confusing two products. Your "Standard" which only allows the connection of an external propane appliance like a grill via a 10' hose is called "Extend-a-flow"
The "Delux" as you called it is the "Extend-a-stay"
Just so you know. You can see both on the Marshall Brass web page.
