We are so excited after looking at campers and talking about getting one for 7 or 8 months we finally did it. We pick up our 2012 Puma 295KBH next week. We would have picked it up sooner but had to extend our driveway to have room for it. We have already scheduled 3 trips with it. The first one will only be about 20 min from house to learn about the camper. We have tent camped with the kids for the last couple of years and decided we wanted to move up to a camper. We are lucky in that we have some friends that have been camping in a 5th wheel for several years who are going on these trips with us. I will be asking alot of questions on here in the future.

Congratulations! We did pretty much the same thing tent to Travel Trailer now 5th wheel. We had been camping no more than 400 miles from home and hadn't really stayed out more than a week but this last spring/summer we met our full timing friends half way across the country. Our friends helped us out SO much so that is very wise to have friends with you to help!

Have a great time and welcome to the RV world!

Congratulations and enjoy it.

Good idea on the first trip so close to home. That's a good way to learn the ends and outs. Plus you're close enough to home to go back and get stuff you're sure to discover you need.

I see you are in Lebanon, TN. We stopped in Lebanon back in the late 70's for an over night stay. There was a flea market or large thrift store and we got a good deal on a hand cranked butter churn plus a mickey mouse telephone. We still have both today.

Anticipation is a killer. We bought ours near Austin, TX. 2 days later we put it into storage & got on a plane to come home to Bermuda. We did not even see our newly aquired truck & trailer for 6 months. 1st trip with it was 2 1/2 months. That is called jumping into the deep end of the pool.

Well tomorrow is the big day. We got the reese 20k slider hitch installed yesterday. We are scheduled to pick up the camper at 9 in the morning. The dealer is giving us a intro course to the camper. He said that it would take about 2 hours to complete. When we are done with that we are going to a large parking lot to practice backing the camper. I am alittle nervous pulling the camper for the first time. I have never towed anything this big before.

You must be like my dad was. He bought several boats during the winter so we had to test them in the Columbia River in February, he couldn't wait for atleast a spring day. have fun
