I purchased a new 2008 Cougar 304 BHS by Keystone. I have had nothing but water problems and was wondering has anyone else had issues. I feel I got the lemon in the bunch, first Keystone did not hookup our water tubes correctly and we had water dripping slowly and saturating our carpet. The dealership to care of this, now we have water seeping in thru the refrigerator vent on the top of the trailer, it wicked under the roof and finally started effecting the inside of trailer. We noticed this at this stage as we hadn't used the trailer in almost a year due to an accident. There was mould on cupboards and the ceiling and spots on carpet. My husband checked the tailer on a regular basis and never noticed any seal problem. Now we are out $13,000 to repair.....anyone have water issues with their Keystone Cougars?? Please help. Thanks

No, turn it into your insurance. It should be covered under water damage.

Your Keystone is 4 years out of warranty, Keystone has no obligation to repair it...as they will merely quote from the owners manual that the owner is responsible for all maintainance including re-caulking all seams, windows and wall intrusions...and inspecting your RV frequently. Keystone RV is not reponsible for what they call "owner neglect". Sorry
Direct Keystone Owners Manual Quote-"The Limited Warranty and limited warranties issued by the component
manufacturers require periodic service and maintenance, and the owner’s
failure to provide these services and / or maintenance may result in loss
of warranty coverage for that item."
Specifically-"Routine maintenance including, without limitation, caulking, recaulking and waxing of the body of the recreational vehicle."
My posts shouldn't be taken for factual data. They are purely fictional, for entertainment purposes and should not be constituted as actually related to scientific, technical, engineering, legal, spiritual or practical advice. Amen.

No sir no problems yet... I have an 07 Cougar TT and I do periodic checks (couple a times month) of all the window frames, roof moldings, side moldings & vents. If I notice the slightest cracking I reseal with some Dicor. Gotta keep checkin it.

Sorry to hear the OP's problems. Routine inspections are critical for any RV. Inspections are the key to longevity for an RV.
Leaving any RV unattended an idle for a year will lead to catastrophic issues. It's unfortunate that no one was able to attend to the RV

We did check the seals on a regular basis, and did so multiple times a year. They all looked fine, no cracks etc. I believe the vent goes in and under so you cannot see whole seal.
Thanks for the replies so far!

There are so many different parts, connections, and other things that can go wrong on any RV. We have a 2012 Cougar 327RES, and I notice a leak in in the hose feeding the black tank flusher when using it; as well as a mostly-kinked water line coming off of the water pump when installing a winterizing kit (never had used the water pump). All were easy fixes, but it happens. We're very happy with the unit otherwise. Regarding routine inspections... with our previous TT, another RV'er had evidently clipped the back of the rig in our storage lot and pushed the corner molding out. Once again, an easy fix, but we could have had leaks. It just goes to show that you have to check on them regulary or you're asking for trouble down the road.

I have a 2011 that leaked from the get go! Keystone fixed the black tank flush, shower connections, bathroom sink drain and shower drain, all several times and they still leak now. I have had them serviced all together 11 times and now Keystone doesent want to know anything. I think most of the issus now are dealer realted and CW still works on it for free. Lets see what happens after this years winter storage, I may trade it for a Jayco !

Wow, that's good to know. Guess we'll both have to see where we come out after winter is over.
