I've been trying to contact Amarillo Best Wonderland RV resort and cannot get anyone to answer. If anyone knows anything about this park please let me know. Also if anyone knows of another campground, needing one on I-40 and close to hwy 287 please let me know.
Thanks

We stayed at Amarillo Ranch a couple of years ago and thought it was a nice place. Even better, for a longer stop during the spring would be Palo Duro Canyon State Park - when we lived in that area we loved going there.

We always stay overnight at Ft Amarillo RV Park. On the west edge of town near restaurants and shopping. Good park at under $30/nt.
If you are heading toward Dalhart you can continue west on I-40 to Vega and turn north. Takes you straight up to Dalhart.

We liked Oasis RV Resort on the west side of Amarillo. Nice, paved, long pull thrus, great managers. Right off the freeway. Easy access back to 287. They used to have a 3 night special rate. No trees but very nice park.

Amarillo Best Wonderland RV resort is definately NOT A RESORT. Not the best area to stay in either. Amarillo Ranch, Fort Amarillo, or Oasis are the best choices. Fort Amarillo is directly behind Gander Mountain. These are all on I-40 and easy back to 287. Oasis is just a few years old and located near Loves on west I-40. Fort Amarillo is closest to mall and other shopping and eating on west outskirts. Local RV dealer Jack Sisemore Traveland has opened an RV Museum and has the Flxible Clipper that was in the movie RV as well as other vintage RVs. Enjoy your stay just be prepared for the wind to blow!
