I drive a Chevy 2007.5 with the Duramax 6.6L LMM diesel. Has anybody out run a Banks speed brake on this engine for a while and how does it perform? .

Plenty of RVers pull with the Cummins engines so you can get good answers here, but maybe more over here - Forum

The OP has a Duramax, how will a Cummins forum help him?

I thought with the Duramax/Allison combination he did not need an exhaust brake?
Seriously, Banks is nice stuff, but way overpriced. There are several manufacturers that make the same or better stuff for less money.

Yes why does he need it? New GM models have increased the GCVWR and more help is needed but not for our total of 22,920 lbs.

The Chevy I drive does have the tow/haul mode but with a 36' 5th wheel I still feel I don't have enough stopping power for pulling in the mountains. Hence GM putting a similar speed brake product in the 2011 PU models. I'm still looking for somebody who has this Banks product.

Hey Larry, how is the winter nest?
Next question is how many miles on your OEM brakes? Just curious.
OP Gale Banks would be my last resort in EB's.
