Hi Everyone
Our 2K8 Silverado Duramax clipped the garage edge, breaking the lower convex mirror and popping out the upper powered mirror (turn signal, up/down, right/left).
The full assembly (mirror and all) runs nearly $700 at the dealership so hopefully we can get by without this option.
The upper lens/mirror looks like it should just press back in but I have been reluctant to press too hard on it. The lower mirror is all fractured and will have to be replaced. The best price I have found so far on the internet is $76 for the lower mirror lens.
Does anyone have any experience/suggestions in this regard?
Thanks

MH whacked my driver side mirror making a turn in to a CG site.....mirror popped out. Easily went back in by pushing in and sliding down mirror. Unfortunately the mirror arm/assembly was busted.....cost him/his ins. $560 for replacement mirror assembly.....motorized/heated no turn signals so I'm not surprised at dealer cost for yours.

I do not remember the exact price but our Chev had the bigger tow mirrors and was around $100 on E-Bay. Dealer wanted $600.00 at the time. It was electric, heated and had the turn signal in it. I would never pay the $700 they are tring to soak you for.
I tried fixing ours too and it never worked. Was a little pain in the butt to take the door apart. The only reason the have to take the inside panel off is to run the wire.

YOu might just pop in the large on, and then use one of the small sticky on ones . I have used them in the past they work OK. Just to press with your hand on one side and press evenly .. If you break it Your not out of anything and still in the bag for a new one :-(
Good luck

I clipped my driver's side large mirror about a year ago and broke it into a million pieces. The glass had to be broken completely out and the new one was held in by adhesive. I found a place online(computer crashed so I lost the info), but it was an outfit out of oak hill or oak hills, ca(near victorville/hesperia area of the high desert). The replacement was around $75 just for that one piece, but it looks identical to the one that came on the truck OEM. Mine has the turn signal and heat in it also. Hope this helps.
