Well, I finally made the decision to get a new truck. Picked it up yesterday.
With all the info here and on several sites, we opted to get a 2011 F350. It is a crew cab short box Lariat with the 6.7 motor/six speed.

Have not had a Ford in many years. Have had several GM trucks with Duramax / Allision.
Our last truck was a 06 Chev 1 ton DRW long box. So ya, I do have a little concern going to a SRW short box. Everyone says it should tow our Open Range fine. I guess we'll find out before long.

All the new features and interior layout is real nice in the ford. Not sure if I just needed a change, but wasn't as interested in another GM truck. After all the research this winter, I felt the new ford would be a better fit for us.
No pics yet but will get them up after.

Have to study the owners manual now. Lots to learn.

Study your maintenance requirements and keep them up. Don't want to scare you, but go to Fordtruckenthusiast.com and read up on the 6.7L issues. Many owners do not have problems but there are some that have had major issues.

Congrats and good luck with your new truck! It will tow your trailer just fine.

I came from a GM as well and though I wasn't really opposed to buying either of the other two I ended up giving the Ford a try and I couldn't be happier. I've only got about 18000 miles on it though.

I think if I traded for a Bosch CP4 equipped engine I'd be running a lubricity improver in every tank of fuel.
I am considering an upgrade to a F450 but that current Bosch CP4 HPFP scares the******out of me.
While that's a beautiful truck but, sorry to the OP but that fuel system scares me.

I pull a 13000 pound Big Horn fiver with a very similar truck. The truck is well within it's ratings at that weight.

I use a B&W Companion hitch. With the scalloped front cap, I have not found any site that I could not back in to safely.

Use the Ford PM22A lubricity additive in every tank of fuel...and enjoy your new truck

See you went from L/box to S/box.

What are you doing for a hitch.

New slider?

I don't see anywhere that you need to use the additive in the 2011 F350.
