Wow!
Where did he actually hit you?
That windshield looks like stress fractures- interesting how the impact must have traveled...

Ouch. Sorry to see your trip interrupted like that. I'm assuming that it must be worse than it looks because, just from that picture, I'd look at getting the glass and mirror replaced and worry about the bodywork when I got home. Hope that you get satisfaction from the insurance company (maybe a rental RV for the rest of the trip?).

Glad you and family not hurt!!! Your a Good Sam Club member and maybe a FMCA member. They should be willing to guide you along under these circumstances. And your insurance agent should be helping you out, or do you just have a company and no agent?
Around here TT = travel trailer, not tractor trailer, well tractor trailer or Class 8 commercial rig. But now we understand.
Hope you got the information from the tractor trailer company. They are required to have tons of insurance for accident coverage. Some one mentioned lawyer. There are lawyers who specialize in accidents involving trucking companies, but usually one only needs these specialized guys if the accident involves bodily injury.
You are at the mercy of your insurance company, or the tractor trailer company's insurance company to get you towed to someplace safe. I don't think your ERS will tow you in the case of a accident. But I am sure that mine (Coach Net) will advise me on the facilities in the local area where I need to get my motorhome to. My insurance carrier will tow both my toad and my motorhome if required. They will also cover rental of a vehicle to get me home.
One thing I have wondered about is "Travel Insurance" which would cover you trip. From my research, it appear that Travel Guard will insure RV trips, including the loss cause by the cancellations of campground reservations. Transportation to your home and motels while enroute to your home. Cost appears to be set by cost of the trip, with a $6000 trip costing something like $500. Maybe someone else can offer more concerning the travel insurance.

A little baling wire, a little duct tape and you should be able to get to a glass shop to have the windshield repaired. Off to the body shop once you get home. I wouldn't let something like that stop me from continuing on. It looks yucky and I would hate to be in your shoes, but it looks driveable to me......Dennis

Having been an OTR trucker, and haveing my rig backed into twice by rookie drivers, that is why I don't overnight at Rest Areas or Truck stops.
I have watched guys trying to back into a loading dock for 20 to 30 minutes without being able to do it. I have even backed rigs into docks for some drivers.
Really sorry for you, but as Dennis said, looks drivable to me, you can't go 70 75 but you should be able to limp home. As long as you and the wife didn't get hurt, the rig can be fixed, and will look like new. Hope you got all the info from the driver, one that backed into my rig (Big Truck) took off, I was asleep until I felt and heard the Crunch!
Chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Happy Trails.

Each of us have different tolerances when considering damage that renders a coach non-drivable. For me, I'm with Dennis and would make temp repairs and head for home. Beyond that run thru the 'Break Down' sticky. Maybe something there.
Myself, I’ve always tried to be self-sufficient as possible. I try to plan for potential disasters and such which include on the road in the coach. I specifically keep a large cash/credit reserve to see my family thru at least two to three weeks of living, be it rather primitive in nature. I also carry a bunch of reference material so I do not have to depend on the internet to find what I think I might need. I don’t feel comfortable being dependent on assistance of an organization, in particular the local, state or federal government. And that includes family members. I have low expiations of my insurance carriers beyond basic repayment for repairs to my coach. During hurricane season the coach is always on 24 hour notice for long term usage.
Sorry for your loss and trip interruption but look at the bright side of all this. You'll have a good camp fire story and a shiny new front end cap on the coach.

Hi camper_ron,
Who do you use for your insurance. We are from Massachusetts also and the only company I could find for RV specific insurance was Progressive (not a choice, just a lack of options and not cheap). Our policy would cover us in that type of situation with accident coverage, trip interruption, and accommodations if needed. Also, it looks from your picture like someone took a bat to the windshield (in the lower center area). As an added insurance I always note the plate #s of all vehicles near mine when parked. I had to eat the cost of a dented door in a mall parking lot so I learned my lesson.

You'll have trouble finding an attorney unless there were some injuries. They don't want to mess with what they would consider small little property damage claims.

As others have said, get new glass and temp repairs and continue on your way. Have it repaired when you get home. The other approach would be to rent a small Uhaul truck or van to put your belongings in and head back home.
Truck insurance companies can be very difficult to deal with I've been told. Let your insurance deal with the damages.

Yes we have. I feel your pain. It is never comfortable to discover you are in a non-rolling rig and far away.
A decade back when we were newbies our air dryer fell off going down the hill into Scottie's Castle on the edge of Death Valley, CA. We managed to coast into the parking lot before the brakes locked up. There was no cell service out there and the parking lot sign said "no overnight parking". Hmm so the rangers inside the office let us use the land line telephone. We called the manufacturer because the issue was thier fault. They sent a low boy out from Las Vegas to take us to the Freightliner shop the next morning. In the mean time we just settled in, visited the venue and watched a scrawny little coyote wander around as we dry camped. The next day we followed the truck back into Vegas in our toad (one reason having a toad along is a lifesaver) with a dog and 2 cats in the cab of an S-10 pickup with the temps over 100! We spent the night in a motel.
We now have emergency road service coverage and have used it twice!
Unfortunately travelers need to be prepared for literally anything. In our cases we were lucky and never had severe damage or injuries.
