Ok would love feedback on these TT's. I really really like the features I saw today but are they a well made, long lasting TT?? I plan on living in it with 2 dogs and traveling a bit for work. I like Jayco and KZ and know they are well made, well respected but wanted to know about Dutchmand and Kodiac. Thank you in advance.

I have owned 2 Kodiak's and I didn't have any problems that any other trailer out there didn't have. Even a Jayco could require a repair at some point in it's life.

I found Dutchmen was very good to deal with when I did encounter an issue.

Good luck.

Just purchased a 2012 Kodiak, and couple trips in been a great solid unit.

Longevity on any of the units, will depend on user wear/tear and maintenance, I have stubled on complaints with many of the mfg trailers, and there is always a debate on up-keep, some bashing quality, and then someone speaks up, that they never have had an issue with particualr brand/type.

We owned a 2005 KZ Frontier 2405 from 2004 - 2011. Had very good luck with it, so yes, it was well made. Unfortunately our kids outgrew the bunks so we moved into a 2012 Kodiak 284BHSL last September.

So far we've had a couple warranty fixes: new carpeting under the sofa in the slideout, new wallboard next to the sofa and a new foot for the sofa. Not sure if Dutchmen was in a hurry to get the sofa installed that day or what, but our dealer remedied all of it at the end of last season.

The water pump went out just before our first trip (as we sat in the driveway all hooked up and ready to go), so our dealer made a housecall and had it replaced (with a better brand) within an hour and life was good.

The LCI electric tongue jack crapped out when putting it in winter storage. Sounds like a pin sheared. An online search tells me that the LCI jacks are known for this and I'm not alone, so I may be going back to a Barker 3500 next spring.

Other than that, we like our Kodiak. The kids like the bunks, we like the interior, the master bed area and the outside cook center. And the front storage is huge!

Dave.

I posted this answer on a similar question. We've had our Kodiak for about 3 years. for the most part it's been good. The upholstery isn't holding up very well, some of the seams on the sofa are separating. We like the walk around queen bed with cabinets on each side, although it's still a challenge making the bed! Lots of cabinet space in bathroom. The dinette is a little tight. Would like more cabinet space under dinette. Air conditioner, heater, fridge all work great. Sofa bed is small. Came with flat screen HD TV which can be viewed outside or in, hangs over dinette or sits on shelf; also came with grill that attaches to outside of trailer but we haven't used it. Has an adjustable outside table that attaches to side of TT. It has a nice large awning. No major structural issues. One drawer had to have the hardware underneath replaced recently, and the liner in the shower is separating from the wall, but it hasn't caused any issue with showers. I don't like the cheap flimsy shower curtain and the way it's attached to the ceiling. We added a new curtain set up which gives a little more elbow room. Also, the shower head just started leaking recently, we need to replace it. That's all I can think of right now, thought you would like to hear from one who has used it awhile. My least favorite thing is the small black tank capacity-I think it's only 22 gal.

We have a 2011 200QB and really like the TT. Used it for 9 trips last summer (31 days) and found no problems. The only thing we did not like was the table and that has been changed on the 2012. Our dealer modified our table to the later 2011 style (different from the 2012) at no charge.
The storage areas are great.
