My Georgie Boy Suite has 3 12 volt batteries. 1 for the chassis and 2 wired together for the coach. I will be replacing them this spring.
My question is, would I be better off to use 1 12 volt for the chassis and 2 6 volt wired together for the coach?
All 3 are currently located up front under the hood and I really don't want to add any additional batteries.
Just wanting to know which will give me a longer run time.
Thanks

Most agree that all things being eqqual, you will be better served with 2 - 6 volt batteries.

Generally, the 2, 6 volt batteries will be larger than a single 12 volt you will be replacing. plus you will need 4, 6 volt batteries to replace 2, 12 volt.
2, 6 volt batteries will not have the amperage holding capacity that 1, 12 volts will. (unless they are huge)

My standard answer is: if you never dry camp it doesn't matter.

our 96 Southwind has one 12v for the engine/chassis and two 6v for the house. The system works great, I don't do a lot of boondocking, but I've never had a problem.

What size are the 12v? 24 to GC2 is way better, 8D to GC2 not so much.

I think you need to get more information before making statements like this. The exact opposite is generally true.

when you are replacing batteries you must have the size that will fit the rack, and 6 volt batteries that will produce the amperage, won't fit in the space that two 12s will.
when you consider that the 2, 12s will do more work than the number of 6s that will fit the space.
If you want to build a rack to fit the 4, 6 volts have at it.

That is the comment that I took exception to. It is NOT a true statement.....
