Really leaning toward skidaway but without a full hookup I am really only good for 2 days if we takes showers daily before my grey is full.

They have nice showers, if that's an option. My wife has long hair, so she often uses the park showers if they're decent. I'm good with the Navy shower, so I usually stick with the motorhome. Also saw at least a couple of folks pull up the jacks, head to the dump station, then head back to their camp site.

Agreed. I think it fits the bill perfectly. Nice place to bike, Son will get a kick out of the nature preserve, interpretive center, marine center, the lookout, hiking trails. Lots of cool stuff at this place. If I have to dump and set up again it's not like I've never done that before.

There are several tours available in Savannah. My favorite was the haunted tour. They take you around after dark and show you all the haunted places in town.

Lots of history there. Some of it neat and some of it objectionable but all of it is as real as the earth! It is one of the oldest cities in the country and THE largest historic district on the register.

Back in the day each one of the squares had a specific purpose.

The first scene of Forrest Gump was filmed in one of the Squares. Do not look for the bus though because the bus service and the stop were made up for the movie. The film company did leave the bench with the city after the movie was filmed.

The Book (and subsequent movie) were written based on true events that took place in the city.

This Old House renovated one of the old historic residences there.

I ride it like I stole it!
.......and I just may have.......

I'm on "CB-13", are you?

They moved it to one of the close by museums.

And if we were going to Savannah again, we would stay at Skidaway SP again. Just take a look at the reviews of the other parks and that will tell you why. But it is one long ways from down town. And so arn't the rest of the campgrounds. We are thinking of laying over one night at Skidaway in a few weeks. Stayed there two weeks last winter.

If we are staying around Savannah for a few days, we like Tybee Island, very laid back. I think it is about 10 mi to savannah from camp ground, but a good drive. If just a stop over when going to or from florida, we stay at savannah oaks, just off I-95. We love Savannah, and the river front, got to go to Paula Dean's, good home cooked type food. Just enjoy!!!

We took the evening ghost tour and loved it. If you like seafood, Uncle Bubba's (Paula Deen's brother's place is great).

Watch the trees if taking the coach through town since they have low hanging trees, some span the entire road, hlast time we were there. Nerve racking for us, but most we were able to get buy with no issues.
