My DH has the dogs in bed with him, when I come up to bed the dogs glare at me. Camping Misty the husky shepard sleeps with the kids & Daisy is in bed with us. She loves cuddling & gets very cold at night.

I have a lab and a larger mix (bull mastiff, possible Sharpei, etc). When it's cold outside, I'm lucky to have an edge of the queen bed - they both like to sleep east/west. The lab also likes to spoon and will back her backside in to the spooning position, then will work her head under my hand.

When camping, the trailer is so small with such little floor space, we just about have to have one in bed. Unfortunately, the lab thinks that means in my bunk with me... that's just a little too much coziness

um ... in our house, we sleep in our furry friends' bed. We're fortunate that they have a nice large king size bed to share with us.

Marm never did...he was just too big & had too much fur, and I suspect laying on the blanket overheated him. He would sometimes sit with his chin on the foot of the bed. Occasionally, he'd climb up...Liz would immediately remove him. I would sleep through him climbing up, wake up with 100+lbs of St. Bernard on my leg, and have a totally-useless leg for ten minutes.

In the winter, he slept at the foot of the bed, sprawled out on an old rug over a hiker's foam sleeping pad. Summer, he slept in the living room, on the hardwood floor.

As for cats...Maya (29lb Maine Coon Cat) almost always sleeps on top of the blankets, though she'll sometimes seek someplace cooler (often her barstool) in the summer.
Briza (15lb orange tabby) didn't for the first year, but now curls up on the bed...often in one of those bizarre contortions only cats can manage.
Vierna (7lb black shorthair) will crawl UNDER the blankets in the winter...she's normally a very high-energy cat, but likes being warm. One very cold night, she crawled INSIDE my sweatshirt while I slept. (Extracting a cat from a sweatshirt without getting scratched takes some care.)

I wish our dogs would sleep with us! They get too hot so they have their choice of dog beds or the floor.

Our little beagle has been sleeping with us since we got him!

How could you refuse a face like this?

Well we brought Chloe home last night, think we got about three hours of sleep! She has taken to our almost 3 year old Golden Charlie. If he isn't in the room with her she starts crying, then when he comes she follows him everywhere till she passes out.

I forgot how much fun it is the first couple of weeks! First potty training and then she is going to join charlie in our bed. She already loves sleeping with us, and being handled by us. Has to be snuggling up to us at all hours of the day. Good times!
