Drove through there just a couple of hours ago coming home from the Grub Stake fish fry. It sure looked open today. The parking in the wash outside the big tent was full. Our park will start the shuttle service tomorrow (1.21). It will probably be the last time I drive in there until after the show is over.

D&E, don't know what time you ran into traffic. But we left Yuma Thursday the 19th at 10 AM, got to Q at approx 11:10 AM. Stopped at the first light on 95 for a moment, proceded across I-10, waited one light cycle to turn left on Main. Simply drove up to Carls Jr., made the left after waiting one car, got fries and burgers, ate there. Came out turned right went down to same intersection, turned right, jumped into left turn lane to turn east on Kuehn Rd., then on out to Scadden Wash. Came out of the camping area about 2:45 PM, back towards town, made right at the east end of Q, over I-10, left on to Main, left again into VFW. Out of VFW, left to 95 then south on 95. There is more traffic over here at the new Fry's Grocery here in the Foothills. We must have missed rush hour in Q.

Hey Bob, You missed the real traffic yesterday's opening of the Big Top. You missed the great prices too. IE; Shadepro is selling the electric visors in Q for 3 for 99 bucks. In Yuma at the 32nd ST swap meet they cost 19.95 each. Really some "great" deals here in Q.

Sarge, went to the tent yesterday (Monday). Rolled into the tent parking lot at 8:15. Parked the second row back from the tent. Found a cup of coffee and at 9 AM the gates opened. Sure didn't look like Black Friday. Left at 11:30, over to Silly Al's for pizza. Got there at 11:50, there were probably 10 people in the joint. About 15 minutes later the crowd started to arrive. When we walked out somebody was about in my chair before I got up. Drove over to Gamblers for a couple of minutes. Then over to Discount Solar, same panel in Yuma $20 bucks cheaper. Then to the VFW for a brewski before heading back to Yuma. Q Show prices are still higher for the most part than Yuma. The guy just outside the tent on the south side that has the fancy key fob door entry for RV's whipped his pitch on us. Got thru it and started to ask if we had any questions. I said, yeah, since the price isn't marked on it, what is the price? Said $250.00, we ran, didn't walk. Looks like the LED main vendor has sent more to more different sub vendors and they finally overtook the satelite peddlers in numbers. You gotta love the price fixing. Cookware and Vegamatics straight from the Atlantic City, New Jersey summer boardwalk tour. Talked to a person that is in this park that tends to a stand for an outfit from here in Yuma. Asked how things were going, "Saturday was OK, Sunday was half of the Sunday a year ago".

Went to the rv big tent on Tuesday. Crowded but not as bad as last year. Didn't see anything I couldn't live without. We are at Echo Lodge on the Parker strip. Saw better prices at the Saturday La Paz flea market. Sunday flea market in Havasu has better prices as well. Got our ground mats for $10 less apiece in Havasu last year. Its still worth checking out all the booths though. The regular trinket and rock vendors are always worth browsing at the surrounding markets in Quartzite.
The best thing my wife found last year was horn carving bracelets that are made into feathers . The guy's name is (appropriately) Horn Feather. Saw him again this year. $20 for a beautiful and unique piece of art/jewelry. He is at "The Main Event" in Tyson Wells.

We did the trip to Q on Wednesday on our bikes from Yuma. 64 miles out from the southern most 14 day stay area(La Posa) we counted 177 rv's heading for Yuma so the exodus has started. The 14 day stay area seemed to be fairly busy but the Long Term Stay areas are definitely down from previous years both from observation as well as we have some friends that stay in these long term areas. The big tent was fairly busy but also seemed to be less than previous years, maybe because it was Wednesday. The 12.4% tax is definitely a deterrent. The number of vendors in Tyson Wells area is definitely way down and as others have said prices seem to be higher than other area flea markets. Just my observations.

Hey Folks, on the bright side I did purchase a Steer Safe System for my MH. Total cost 415.00. I have been wanting one for a while. They even installed it. When we headed West last Monday we drove right into the Santa Ana winds, love the system, big difference in handling, even when big rigs pass. I had no problem driving with one hand on the wheel and sipping coffee with the other. This purchase was well worth the trip to Q. The Pizza at Silly Al's was the biggest highlight of the trip.
