I have a Wineguard crank up non automatic dish on the roof of my 08 Lance 1055. When I hook up the coax to the winegard port in the ceiling I get no satellite found messages on the Direc TV box even when I have lined the dish up with a compass and inclinometer.

I pulled the connection out from the ceiling. you have the two pwoer wires and two coax cables. I'm assuming one is to the roof dish or is it to the over the air antenna and the other is to the port on the side of the TC for cable or am I missing a cable that should hook into the one socket with no cable connection and that goes to the dish?
I can't see much inside the hole

You probably just need to purchase a satellite finder. It's very difficult to NAIL the set up on the first try so the inclinometer and compass then use the satellite finder (basically a signal meter) to tweak the aim.

The panel you show is for the standard over the air antenna, and should connect to the input on you TV. Should have NOTHING to do with any type of Satellite dish. Keep looking for the cable from the satellite dish..

Those connections look like the OTA antenna. Not a satellite antenna. DirecTV with a crank up antenna should be a single wire from the dish.

Check winegard web page to get details on the antenna switch and the connections to it. It may have markings on it. Most do.

Take a look in any cabinet that the DirecTV box might be put in. Mine is inside on the top (ceiling) of the cabinet.

Thanks guys, I went back and pulled the radio/dvd player and I am pretty sure I found the Satellite Coax, it is coming through the ceiling at the correct location and is not hooked up to anything.

look at picture #2
the screw that held the plate to the wall has pierced the coax and shorted it out

it might work now that the screw has been removed or there might be permanent damage to the coax or even any power supply, if 12v power is applied to the coax

looks like you found the missing sat feed coax,
I would still check for problems on that pierced white coax and antenna amplifier

Ditto Mr. Wizard.

Take a look at the plastic plate hanging on the left. It looks like it has a battery attached. If so it is a device to display your elevation on the dish. The one I had ate batteries and I installed an on/off switch for the battery.

That said, if you have never used a crank up it will take some practice. Be sure you have an absolutely clear shot of the Southern sky. Not one twig or branch in the way. Turn the crank up and count the turns. Be sure your rv is level to or it will drive you crazy. I used 17.5 turns out here in California. Youre mileage will vary. The up and down is the most critical and a half turn can drop the satellite out. The right left turn usually allows you a few inches each way. So crank it up to what the digital readout says and then turn it slowly left and right. If no joy, turn the crank to raise or lower the antenna but only 1/2 turn and scan right and left again. Go slow. Once you have signal lower the antenna and count the turns. You will be glad you did.
