Our shower floor drain cracked underneath the shower floor and has let what must be a fair amount of grey water into the space between the trailer floor and the underneath insulation. I think the grey water must be trapped just above the underneath lining ?

What shall I do ? Drill a hole in the lining to let the water drain out ? Let it dry out ?

This is the second ABS drain pipe failure we've had on coming back to the trailer after leaving it here in the Arizona summer ! I think this has happened because the ABS was screwed onto a metal drain coming out of the shower floor. I suspect the metal expanded in the heat more than the ABS plastic ?

Well I dont know. Please under no circumstances am I trying to belittle you. Im certain I am asking you a dumb (or should I say "DUH") question. Please do not get upset here. However
----Are you emptying the grey/black waste tanks before you leave? Are you turning the water supply hose OFF before you leave?
-I am sure you do, if you do, then I dont have a clue how water can fill the tank, or, fill the shower--while it is unattended. Only thing I can think of is, has it rained while you were gone? If so, then it must be leaking in from the roof somewhere, or at the drain pipe (at the roof). I would check out that roof.

You might have to take the bottom off and get rid of the insulation. grey water will smell like crazy in the AZ heat. You will have to bite the bullet and replace the insulation

You have to remove the insulation, it will not dry out. If the insulation is left behind, mold will develop...

In all likelihood your under floor insulation is Styrofoam so getting wet is not any real problem but you still need to get rid of the water in your belly. Simply remove some of the screws near the low point in your belly pan and allow it to drain out. Coroplast is not water soluble itself and neither is Styrofoam so no real damage done in most cases as long as you don't retain the water and MOST RV bellies are not completely water tight even if you don't drain it.

If it were my TT I would raise the opposite side of the TT by using a couple of 2 by 6s under the wheels and allow the water to drain out on the low side. I suspect if it leaked once it will leak again until you get inside the area and repair the problem properly. If you start to get an odor and mold, not only will it be uncomfortable for you, but almost impossible to sell the RV.

OK. Thanks for the info. I guess I'd better get under the trailer.

Just FYI, the water was leaking out of the drain when we had the tap on and were using the shower. Nothing to do with grey tanks or switching off water. All these things were done properly before we left Arizona last April.

I think our two instances of the ABS pipes cracking suggest the air must be getting VERY hot inside the bathroom. I'm going to have to think of how I can ventilate the room better. The Park owner doesn't allow any power connection while we are away from Arizona in the summer. Maybe a solar panel connected to a 12 volt marine type fan extractor ? Suggestions welcolmed !

ABS is rated to almost 180 deg F, one might hope it doesn't get that hot. You could rig up a solar powered vent fan, they are commonly used on boats:

Vent fan

You could rig this on top of the normal vent but the solar panel would have to be exposed and you'd need to seal it against rain.

How are you going to fix the cracked pipe -- if you have to remove the shower pan then you should have clear access to the plumping and the insulation.
