The best light is the one that comes built into the kindle fire....

I have a Kindle light that clips on (pre Fire version Kindle.)

May get one of those Lowes hats, great idea. We're going on a cruise, and if we hit a rock and the lights go out, might come in handy during the evacuation.

Funny side note.
As my wife found out.
Don't use it for reading outside at night. Within minutes she had attracted every moth for miles around.

Wife bought a little light that slides into the side of the cover we bought, works great and doesn't use up batteries too quickly.

X5 (or more?) on the Kindle cover with the built-in pull-out light. It is convenient, effective, and uses the Kindle battery. Pricey, but for me is worth it.

We bought a cover for the Kindle that has a built in light that pulls out when you need it. The great part is that it uses the Kindle battery so you never have to worry about batteries.

We use it often and there isn't a noticeable drain on the Kindle battery.

X2

Nice leather cover, built in light that works really well and you don't need to remember to carry "extra" things with you. The light is always there, uses the Kindle's battery and doesn't draw so much juice from the Kindle (LED bulb) that it is detrimental to using it.

My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...
