I recently booked a month at a Good Sam Club Park. Not realizing, as it is my first time, that we are supposed to get a 10% discount for being a member.
So, I call back the next day (to reservations) and mention the discount and they said; Not in February!
I am looking at all the Good Sam's paperwork and it says 10% off, with no blackout dates!
I contacted Good Sam's Club (customer service), then pretty much said nothing they can do about a refund and or discount. Any thoughts??

10% discount typically applies to daily rate....not on weekly or monthly rates
I'm surprised at the 'no blackout dates' statement because:
Any CG can set any 'restrictions'....'limitations'.....'Not applicable' dates they want.
It's their private business and allowing discounts (any) is at their discretion.
Good Sam or any other discount program does not dictate how they run their business.....Good Sam doesn't own the CG's

x2. Most every private campground I was at that takes Good Sam only gives the discount on daily stays. When we stay a week or more, the rate is discounted already and Good Sam didn't apply. Likewise I have been at some that had blackout dates over popular events w/o Good Sam.
Every place we looked at for more than a week stay excluded "additional discounts" such as Good Sam/AARP/AAA.
Still, it more than pays for the membership given the number of days we camp/year for our overnight/few day stays at campgrounds. Course lots of them will give 10% discount for AARP/AAA and other if you don't have Good Sam but Good Sam is convienent and quick.

Hummmm, interesting... While I personally think you should receive the 10% discount, I have a question...
I see your from NJ and you booked the CG for February... I'm wondering if the CG you booked in is a snowbird destination like Florida, Arizona, Texas, etc... These areas are prime winter destinations for us northerners and February would be peak season at this snowbird destinations so I can understand of they refuse the 10% discount at this time of year although I still think they should honor it, but I am curious as to where the CG was you had booked...

Good thought too, we had booked at a CG in SD. I asked for 7 days with Passport and the gal says' I'll beat that one by giving you an extra day. Good for me and she let me have 9 days instead.
Some times it is best to ask first about long term stays discount. There are a lot of places that give great $$ off so they know they have steady $$ in. Plus we always pay in cash in advance.,,,Really helps.

Change campgrounds. YOu can USUALLY get 10% off at a campground by flashing just about any old card in your wallet. I've gotten it for showing my Shawnee County Library Card before

The Good sam web site states that the 10% discount is not valid on weekly or monthly stays at a good sam park. Since you booked for a month, the discount does not apply. Here is a link to the page that states this fact. You are probably already getting a discount by booking for a month so in a sense you are coming out OK over the daily rate. Take the daily rate, multiply it by 29 days and compare it to your monthly rate and see if you are indeed saving.
Here is the web page.

Skip I have never been asked for my card. Just ask if I have AAA or Good Sam's. Never asked to see it!

Morning, from Picacho Peak, AZ. Somewhat like you, I was discomfited, the first time, by not getting a Good Sam reduction. Since then, I've realized that those 10 per cent breaks are for overnight or short term folks. Doesn't apply in any park I know for month terms or longer. Don't know why. Any other thoughts from old timers?
