while covering my t/c and in a big hurry to beat the weather, I thought I was going to fall, well the first thing to grab was the a/c shroud. I found out that the weather took its tole on the shroud and it broke under the pressure, better at home than driving down the road., so the question is, where can I get one at a low price. Been looking on the internet and seen them for around $130- $185. I know someone here has the answer for me.

Oregon RV Salvage yards... let them know what you are looking for, and they can do a nationwide search for it!

Depends on the shroud but for my model PPL had a price as good as any. It's best to get a model and serial number of the AC because there are many makes and models.

I got mine at Camping World last fall for around $130, different models start at $100 I beleive. My wife did the same as you did, she felt real bad about it but I was glad it happened in the driveway instead of bit and pieces flying off going down the highway in a rain or wind storm. I can't believe that in 6 years it could get so weak and crumbly.

If you can do the swap and have an AC unit on its last leg get a totally new unit may be considered. Ours have been rebuilt using Eternabond on the outside and fiber tape on the inside.

I havent seen the damage yet. Were having some nasty weather here in the Pacific Northwest so I don't dare remove the tarps. Once the weather subsides I will take a better look at it. Since I'm very handy I will most likely repair it as long as the rest is not to brittle which I'm going to take a wild guess that its not going to last much longer. Just thinking, I will replace it due to being brittle.
