Hey all,
I'm considering a class A, in particular I have my Eye on a 90 37.5' discovery. I would like to know from those who have experience how many campsite access issues I might expect to run into with this kind of rig. I drove truck for years in another life so I'm sure I can get the hang of driving the thing, but there's bound to be places that are just too small.
Of course I welcome comments from everyone but if some of you have a lot of experience at smaller lakes/venues around b.c. And especially Alberta, I REALLY would like your feedback.
Thanks everyone, seems like a great forum!

We have a 36' Southwind and we tow a car behind anytime we go anywhere.
We are pretty familiar with most of the campgrounds in BC and Alberta and yes, there are some you do not want to take a Class A into.
But there are a lot that you can take a big rig into and even some that are built just for big rigs.
Woodalls Directory or Trailer Life should help you with Big Rig Friendly parks.

Some of the national, state, and county parks were not designed for big rigs but we have covered every state and all of Canada, just read the park discription or RVparkreviews.com

Older prov parks can be tight. Forestry campgrounds are almost always out. It's the roads and turns that will get you.
Having said that we have had tons of fun in pp all over the province. The discover camping site is pretty informative.

Most CGs ask the size of your rig when you call for a reservation OR when you check in. I have a 35' /w a Jeep Liberty toad and have never had a size/length problem EXCEPT for the East Coast. You will find that the CGs there are made for Scamps and tents. I had one place tell me they weren't a resort, they were for "camping".

We've had 40' to 45' MH and neither represented a problem finding a CG in an area we wanted to stay.

I've noticed a few state campgrounds in Arizona have a 22' limit.

Thanks for the replys folks. I've got a brother that's trying to steer me toward a travel trailer fairly hard, because he thinks it will limit the places we can go as a family. He's pulling a 28ft 5th often with a boat behind that and it sounds like there's probably not a lot of places he could get to that I couldn't in that discovery.
