Spend time in Quartzsite while returning from Las Vegas to Phx this weekend.
It can't be 25% of the size it was 25 years ago. I remember when it took 20 mins to get across the four way stop next to the Shell station. I guess no one wants to buy anything there anymore.
The mall was nearly empty, Hobby Lobby looked the same. K-Mart didn't have 10 cars in the lot. Bass Pro was closed up.

2005 Chev 5.3 Supercharged 395HP 425 T hp. Two wheels on front, 2 on back. one seat, tint windows. front and rear bumpers, headlights, windows. Door on each side. Heater, floor mats, 6 Reese candy bars, junk behind seats, some dirt. Pulls so hard.

I find it odd that the US Olympic Cross Country Ski Team decided to move their practice facility to the mile marker 95 area. Look out for a lot of traffic in that area.

I had heard that Quartzsite was having some big problems with their local goverment. Raising local taxes, huge increases on rent for the swap meet areas, and local law enforcement writing lots of cites. I saw on one web site that a new swap meet got started in Vicksburg.
Like Quartzsite got started years ago. Vicksburg is east and north on highway 60. I haven't been down there in several years.

Come back in another 10 days and it will be a different story. Most people haven't arrived yet. You still have another week before the big show.

The new town looks like a Ghost town, I think it is over.

Yeah, that was dumb. After the Olympic Summer Games Swim Facility pool was built there they ended up using it for a therapy pool and built a CG around it.
