Article doesn't say a lot but does offer some time line criteria. Plus an 8spd tranny?

Looks like a DEF equipped Dodge for my driveway...not likely to wait until 2014 to dump this no warranty 6.7 Ford...

That was a truck that was floating around the auto shows a couple years ago. I don't think that is representative of what the new truck will look like. Personally I liked this truck, but they speak of the newer truck being more aerodynamic. This truck is about as aerodynamic as a barn door and clearly based off the current platform.

I betcha the GMC pictured will not have that front end. The 8 speed Allison, that would be awesome, pulled by a larger Duramax. It will be interesting... Happy Trails....

Have I been asleep for a while and miss a year?

"Kranz goes on to say in 2010, the Silverado and Sierra 2500 and 3500, GM's heavy-duty models, received a long list of foundational engineering improvements -- a new chassis, significant suspension and steering changes, plus a re-engineered diesel engine. Aside from a new hood and some minor tweaks to the grille and front fascia, however, most people (who are truck people) couldn't tell this was a substantially different pickup. Even the interior was a carry-over, he says. And finishes with, "The redesigned lighter-duty pickups arriving next year will not take this same strategy and will offer a more dramatic appearance change."

I hate to say it, but GM ALWAYS shows us the nice lookin' version as a prototype, and then drops the ball and puts something cheezy on the market.

Note to all............

Having just finished a spell working in the GM environment, I can tell you all that......THERE is to be a NEW Silverado for 2013 available later this year and it LOOKS NOTHING like the example in the first post!

It does however look very simlar in silouette to a "flattened out Tundra."

The boxy shape will be gone for good!

I see no reason at all for GM to make any changes to the Duramax/Allison or the frame brakes or anything on the drive train. I'm just hoping that GM doesn't go with to much Bling....... Happy Trails...
