We have decided to try the Hill Country instead of RGV in February. Any recommendations on RV parks with activities, music, etc. that are popular with the Winter Texans. Or are they all full by now?

Just remember it freezes there very often this time of year.

I agree with the Guadalupe River RV Resort as being a nice place.

If you want something a little different than a typical side by side RV park, try Kerrville-Schreiner Park. Formerly a state park now operated by the city. 500 plus acres with comparatively few RV sites. Lots of room, hiking/biking paths, in the hill country, near lots of other sights including Fredericksburg, Boerne, Bandera, and not that far from San Antonio.

And yes it can get cold this time of year, but doesn't stay that way very long. Freezing one day, golfing a couple days later.

Been to the RGV several times, so we know that area has warm weather, but we were wanting to see some new territory. If February is too cold, maybe we should think about Arizona instead.

Lots of places in the Kerrville, Fredricksberg areas. We stay near Kerrville in Feb and March. It can be a little cold during early Feb. Compared to MN it's paradise. Worst we saw was 14 degrees at night but it warmed to the 40's during the day. On the other hand we saw lots of days in the 60s and 70s in Feb. Not a lot of strong winds and a very scenic area. We love it.

We stayed at the KOA outside Fredericksburg. It's an ok park with friendly management. I saw monthly spots in the back with electric meters. The monthly rate wasn't posted online so you'd have to call.

We've been at Miller Creek RV Resort for about two weeks, now, and we've decided to stay here through March. It's about 45 miles west of Austin and about 60 miles north of San Antonio. A little cooler than AZ was last year, but only by about 5-7 degrees. We were looking for a small, friendly park and we've found it. There are enough activities to satisfy us; you'll have to check the calendar on their website to see how it works for you. www.millercreekrvresort.com I think there are about a half-dozen 50 amp sites not taken at this time.
