Any suggestions for a good place for dinner in Kingman, Az? Route 66 atmosphere would be cool if the food is good.

Thx

just traveled through the other day and stopped at a place called JB's

It is not a place with RT 66 signs hanging all over but is must be from that era.

A family type restaurant with no families in it mostly retirees and locals.

I ordered the bacon lettuce tomato sand. it was one the best I have had in years.

Good salad bar and service

There is a Cracker Barrel not far from the KOA it is not route 66 but good home style food. Try the chicken and dumplings with fried orka and fried apples biskets and corn bread with apple butter you won't go away hungry. They also have a good gift shop. Have fun

I'm not a chicken & dumplings person but must say the fried okra at CB is really really good.

There is a good Mexican restaurant right across the street from the downtown post office if I remember correctly. It is on the corner of Rt 66 and Main St (?). They have great daily lunch specials and it attracts lots of locals.

There is one of the original Route 66 root beer stands near the Route 66 museaum. Nice atmosphere, OK food. I don't remember the name.

The restaurant we remembered was El Palacio of Kingman Mexican restaurant -- remember the RR tracks and the really good, and truly authentic Mexican foods,

Hey Tom they have the nearest Cracker Barrel to us here in CA! In-laws lived there for a while and that was our favorite when in town.
