I came upon this unusual camper in Yuma the other day. The owner evidently mounted a travel trailer onto a flatbed truck. It doesn't fit the normal categories of RV's but I guess it can properly be called a truck-mounted camper. Pretty innovative....

You're right. It is pretty close to a Class C. It differs in that there's no cabover and you can't access the RV from the truck without exiting.

I would argue that it is a Truck Camper, not a Class C. The chassis is complete, not a cutaway. Also it is a living unit that no longer has a hitch or wheels or needs licensing of its own. It is mounted on a (rather large) truck. TC it is.

Now you have me thinking outside the box! Hmmm, I could get a 1/2 ton 4wd pickup without the box, take the axle off of a little Scamp, and mount the 10' egg on the back of the pickup. Wouldn't that be a sight!

Innovative to say the least. May have to create a new RV class. I really admire guys (and gals) that are creative and do good workmanship. May be difficult to raise the awning over the front window?

I remember when we had TC's and chasis mounted TC's which are now call Class C's. Yes some had access from the cab. All in the eye of the beholder I would guess. What class is this rig? Homemade. It is probably the way chasis mounted and Class C's evolved.

In western Ontario at a small traveling carnival I saw a bunkhouse made from a 18 wheeler flatbed and 3 (maybe 4) Bolers. No running gear, permanently mounted. The roadies used the area around the trailers as a wrap around porch.

I saw on the other day. It was an old Holiday Rambler mounted on a stretched Medium duty Freightliner. Had a real nice "Cousin Eddy" look to it..
