Are there others out there that will risk the wrath of the neigh sayers and admit that they tow double ?
For example: Ex cab dually, 36'fifthwheel, Tow dolly and ex cab 4x4 pickup ?
Meets the maximum length for the plains states at 75'.
Ever know of a RV er getting a over the length citation ?
Or even measured for length ?
We towed 7600 miles double last year without incident and would like to hear from others about their double pulling experiences.

You mean like this?

Have pulled in most western and southwestern states and never encountered any problems. Even in AZ, where according to the "law", the 1st hitch must be a 5th wheel, but the definition of a 5th wheel allows a fixed motorhome drawbar. Was inspected by no less than 4 AZ HP officers and passed by all, even being 9' over length. There are only 4 states that specify the 1st hitch to be a 5th wheel and follow up with the definition that makes it stick. The one thing that most are sticklers about is aux brakes and our setup has aux brakes on both the truck and the trailer.

A truck......a trailer......a truck.

Guess I just don't see the logic in pulling a truck when there's already one in the picture!.................

I have several times. When going to the state parks I pull my Jeep and a trailer on the Jeep with firewood, smoker, and all my outside cooking stuff for a family cookout. Also pull my Jeep and fishing boat when we go to Branson area. I have never had a problem but that does not mean I never will.

YUP! I do. If you click on The Train in my sig you can see a photo. See this link also.

I live in a state surrounded by most states that allow for tandem towing. And, NE has a 65' total length maximum. I have never heard of any RVer getting cited for being over length limits.

Yes, I'm sure there are nay sayers to tandem towing. However, I don't think I'm at risk of any wrath. But, whenever I get passed in a blur by a USPS semi truck tandem towing going 75 MPH I feel confident with my skill set and my equipments' ability to handle it.

California is the ONLY state in which that is true!

EDIT: Max overall length in Montana for a double tow is 75 feet. The first trailer can be a ball hitch.

I double towed with a Freightliner, pulling a Mobile Suites and a Chevy HHR for 2 years and my length was 75', . I was stopped one time in Kansas and given a warning. I have never met anyone in person who actually got a ticket for double towing. Have never met anyone who was pulled over and given a ticket for overweight in a RV. However I don't got to Washington State, Oregon, and Cal. I quit double towing only because I was over length and there are just to many people running around trying to figure out how to put a lawsuit on someone just to get money.. If you can get under 65' in most States you want have a issue. There is only two things the LEO can do issue you a ticket and or have you unhook and leave the second tow. As for Lic requirements its a State requirement, I had a Freightliner and never had a issue, my State doesn't bother with RV's for weight or length. Really the truth is the States are just looking for ways to get revenue, and we all know the reason... Remember the RVer aren't under the Federal laws of the Government as for CDL's, I had a CDL Class A until June 2011 and went back to a regular Lic. because I didn't want to pay for a Physcial total cost would have been $250.00 vs under $30.00. And if I want my CDL back within 5 years I would have to get a Physical. However some States have leaned there is a lot of money to be made off the RVers just another revenue source.. Towing regulations are out dated but if they are updated they the States will use it as a revenue source.... Happy Trails.....

P.S. Double Towing isn't for everyone. If you have a professional set up its totally safe.....
