At least not in BC Thanks. I guess I should have clarified BC but you have provided the answer I needed. Is the cell phone thing in BC include a hands free device?

Hands free devices are legal in BC. But they are really cracking down on people talking with a cell phone in their hand.

Thanks for all the info. I sincerely appreciate it. I'm not much for talking on the phone while driving unless it is hands free. Personally I think eating a six pack of tacos is far more dangerous than talking on the cell but what the heck. As far as Camper safety I appreciate your concern but it is no more dangerous than riding in many RV's, riding a ATV, Motorcycle, riding your bike on the road etc etc. I could be wrong however and would be glad to look at any statistics you could provide.

I think the answer to this would have to be NO. We have seat belt laws in Canada and I know in Ontario it is illegal to ride in the back of a pick up truck,so it only stands to reason riding in the camper would be illegal.

I don't know TC accident stats nor am i telling what to do , just be careful to protect your loved ones, if it is legal or not.
There are many Federal laws in place when they build autos. Im not sure about Canadian laws but common sense tells me to be careful when we transport people in a vehicle that im not so sure follows any requirements regarding safety of passengers. The driver of the vehicle is the captain of his ship, so that person is responsible.
I would worry about the seat belt issue for sure. I would think they have to be secured to the vehicles (trucks) frame which would be hard to do in a two piece motorhome. A seat belt mount secured to a dinette 1"x1" that's stapled together is not a secure application.
The other thing that comes to mind is the glass. I'm not sure if truck campers use safety glass or not , a window with the wrong glass could be fatal in a minor accident.
In the event of an accident, things will be flying around in an rv such as toasters, coffee makers, tv, pots and pans and anything that will become dislodged from the interior. I never had to pull a meat thermometer out of my eye but i would not think it would too much fun.
