Question for you DP owners.

We are fulltimers and are looking at used DP MH's, in the $200k range.

We travel about 10 to 12k miles per year. What can we expect for expenses to be for average maintenance and insurance?

I know the answer to this question may vary, we're just looking for an average.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Skip, only putting 10 to 12 thousand miles on your coach per year you will have to change oil/filters once around $ 250.00. In TX I would think about $ 400.00 for insurance. Both small potatoes so don't worry on it.

Sunkatcher......Is that $400 per month for insurance?

Also, what about buying new tires, filters, wash and waxes, etc..etc?

Thanks again...

Skip,
Sunkatcher probably ment per year. I am in Oklahoma and mine is just over $600/year on a
32' 1997 Country Coach Allure. So manufacture, size and year would be factors in how much you would pay.

I am registered in South Dakota and the annual plate sticker is $ 325.00. I am told that TX is slightly less. My insurance is approximately $ 1,500.00/ year on an 8 year old coach. With the diesel pusher requiring an oil change at 11,000 miles or one year intervals I change mine once a year and have the filters changed with the coach greased and serviced for $ 300.00 here in TX. Tires need to be replaced after manufacturer date of 7 years. So each two and a half years I purchase two new tires and they get put on the front. The two on the front are moved to inside or outside duels and the ones taken off the duels are discarded. This allows me to spread out my tire costs so I don’t get wacked all in one year having to purchase 6 new tires at the same time. Generally they run about $ 450.00 to $500.00 per tire. Washing/Waxing I do myself. Around $ 100.00/yr. Water filter $ 30.00/yr.
That about covers most of it I think.
