Maybe the reason some people stay in their RVs is that they feel they are being watched by their neighbors.

Do you realy thing they care?

One reason we go to AZ is because we don't like Florida. AZ is scenic, has a wide variety of landscape. We read, explore, do photography, hang out, DON'T have to mess with snow. If we want to see snow we drive uphill for an hour. When we get tired of it we drive back downhill. We're in Camp Verde again and there are zillions of day trips from here, Grand Canyon and Phoenix to mention just two.

According to the weather forecast I just looked at:
The high temp today at home is 14F with snow squalls and a hazardous weather advisory!
The high temp here in far north Phoenix is 76F and sunny today! Was about 80F yesterday, 81F on New Years day and and sunny with temps in the mid to upper 70s for the rest of the week!
When I'm too old and decrepit to do this is when I'll sit under a blanket at home and look out of the window.
Gonna walk over to the pool now.
Bye.

I just think there's too darn many old people down there. Unless you have something to do down there such as growing a garden or a hobby like flying model planes, what do you do to entertain yourself?

Well I am 67 so I guess I am one of them there "old people" but I don't take acception to being called old. I have earned the right.
What do we do.....get together with the other "old People" and party, lots of food(and believe me old women can cook), drinks and communications. Never had a dull night in Yuma. Also we can go across the border ( I we do almost every day) and have mexican food and the best darn Margarittas ever.

I was once a Youngster, lived in AZ. Now I am an Oldster, want to go back to AZ. When I was there as a Youngster in my 30's, enjoyed all the Oldsters' as they have more wisdom than the Youngsters'. De-Ja-Vu, grilling my Thanksgiving Bird, and my Christmas Roasts, and my New Years Ribs. Going to Northern Az so the van load of my young-ones and the neighbors could play in the snow and come home all in the same day. The Sunsets and moon-shots and stars seemed close enough to touch them. Oh yes! The beauty of the moon over the Superstion MTN. range. And very little rain to plan in January for your 4th of July activities. Need I say more? Here I am stuck in my RV with a wind chill of 11 degrees at 12:00 noon in KY. Yuck! Irover
Now this Oldster will rejoin the rest of the Oldsters in 2013.

We return each year to quad and enjoy the sunshine. Granted, we are among the youngest.. but have made great friends. It's more fun actually to just live in our 5er for a few months and avoid the normal routine at home. Our daughter takes care of the house and enjoys her alone time. Everybody wins.

A friend of mine lives here in eastern Oregon and he just can not see why anyone would leave a perfectly warm nice place called home to go down to Az for three or four months every year and live in a cramped TC or TT or 5th wheel. So what is it that attracts you to AZ?? Me,? yes I would like to go visit and have done so, I just think there's too darn many old people down there. Unless you have something to do down there such as growing a garden or a hobby like flying model planes, what do you do to entertain yourself? My wife is still teaching school so we are not able to migrate south for the winter yet, we are in the process of looking for a much larger TT with about three or four slides

Boy you have a limited idea of what people do when they retire. In fact, we never get done all of the things we want to do when in an area. We geocache, we golf, go to museums, hike, take lots of pictures, get together with friends, party, read, go to the pool, walk through the swap meets, go to Spring Training games, visit wineries, and on and on and on. Actually you should probably stay where you are even after you retire - there are just too many old people here and we need some more space to spread out.

It may be that your neighbor has worked very hard all his life and never had time to learn how to have fun. Well, he NEEDS to come to AZ! There is so much to do here, learn here and enjoy here that he would never have to ask that question again. You just have to open yourself up to new things and let 'er rip. Or he could stay home and paint the bedroom. His call...
