Just sold our 2010 Cougar 293SAB and am looking for something similar. We loved the rear bunkhouse with half bath and the 2012 293SAB is high on our list for the new rig, but we wonder what else is out there with a similar floor plan that doesn't weigh 12,000 pounds?

Any thoughts?

thanks

Check out the KZ Durango 1500 series. Here is a link for the rear bunk bath and a half ;http://kz-rv.com/durango_1500/2012_D296BH.html
There is also a front bunk quad bunks. KZ are great trailers and fantastic company to deal with

Are you making a lot of hamburgers in that bunhouse?

Sounds like your looking at the same trailer except a 2012 campared to 2010. What's wrong with the 2010 model? Just curious.

I was looking very hard at the 293SAB. Almost bought it. But then I came across the Sundance 3100RB and 3300CK. Ended up with the 3300CK. I lost the half bath but gained the outside kitchen.

I may end up with the 2012 as the floor plan is very near perfect for us. There was nothing wrong with the 2010. We liked it very much!

I looked at the 3100RB. Things we didn't like were:

1300 pounds heavier than the 293SAB

Second entry door in the rear bath

TV in the front of the camper. Much easier to see it on the rear wall

16" oven is too small

No oversize bunks and no third bunk

Graphic on the nose is horrible IMO

My wife isn't wild about the Interior colors

Some dealers list this unit's MSRP as high as $65K while others somewhere in the 40s. Either way I'm finding I can buy a 293SAB for $8K less on average.

I do like the larger outside storage on the Sundance!

Thanks!

Our 39 foot Open Range Roamer fifth wheel has a nice rear bunkhouse and 1/2 bath. Not very heavy but a touch more GVW than you mentioned. Does tow like a dream though.
